We utilize a real-time transient pipeline simulator to help teach pipeline hydraulics. The simulator is fully programmable and customizable to meet specific customer requirements. The simulator is used to reinforce principles of fluid flow, demonstrate routine operating techniques and to illustrate appropriate techniques to maintain control during abnormal operating conditions. Students are provided opportunity to practice on the simulator prior to operating a "live" pipeline system.
