1. |
ETI's training products and services originate from Enbridge procedures,
practices and expertise. Enbridge is one of the largest but most efficient,
lowest-cost pipeline operators in North America. |
The solutions we provide reflect industry's best practices, and originate
from a large, sophisticated, leading-edge, and mature operating company.
Enbridge understands effective pipeline O&M because of the breadth and
depth of our operations. |
Unlock the secrets of Enbridge's success by learning how we perform
pipeline operations and maintenance (O&M). Lower your O&M costs and reduce
the likelihood and severity of pipeline incidents by understanding and
following Enbridge's principles and practices. |
2. |
ETI has 15 pipeline O&M job training programs, over 200 training
modules, and a wide variety of professional development courses available. |
We cover it all, from control center operator to the field, from support
staff to senior management. We provide everything needed to prepare individuals
for pipeline O&M, from initial recruitment to job training and professional
development programs. We can also customize our programs to meet specific
needs you might have. |
ETI can develop and qualify all of your staff, whatever their position.
We have "beginner" courses for non-O&M personnel (such as back-office
and support staff), a wide variety of job training programs and professional
development courses for engineers and managers. Your people receive complete,
comprehensive, thorough, and consistent training from a single provider. |
3. |
Our training materials, procedures, technical documentation, and
standards all come from Enbridge. |
ETI's products and services mesh together perfectly. You won't have
to "force-fit" different products and services together from multiple
vendors — often with less than desirable results! |
Using Enbridge-sourced products and services helps ensure uniformity
during the various phases of employee training and development. Staff
benefit from a consistent approach to pipeline theory, practices and procedures.
Our training is consistent in presentation and delivery. |
4. |
All of our training products and services are focused exclusively
on liquid and gas pipeline systems. |
You don't have to worry that our products or services will drift "off
target." We don't provide training for refineries or gas plants or LNG
facilities — we're focused solely on pipelines. |
Our single-minded focus ensures your staff receive training that's applicable
to their jobs. You receive better value for your training dollar because
we don't waste time on non-essentials. |
5. |
We offer a variety of delivery methods for our training programs,
including self-study, web-based and instructor-led (classroom-style) training. |
Whenever you employ ETI, you have a choice in how your pipeline training
is delivered. |
Many factors influence how adults prefer to learn, including culture,
environment, and life and work experiences. Being able to select the right
option for your organization helps ensure that the training is well-received
and understood. |
6. |
Our training products and services make extensive use of graphics
and multimedia. |
Theories, concepts and principles underlying the fundamentals of pipeline
O&M are illustrated using animations, interactive exercises, pictures,
graphs, and other appropriate methods. |
Graphics and multimedia improve retention of the training. Employees
remember more about what they were taught, and are more likely to apply
the training as a result. You receive greater value for your training
dollars. |
7. |
We use a computer-based pipeline simulator in many of our training
courses. |
Simulators reinforce the concepts, principles and theories underlying
pipeline operations. Furthermore, simulators are the most effective way
to train staff in abnormal and emergency pipeline operations. |
Understanding theory is great, but there's nothing like seeing the principles
of hydraulics unfolding before your very eyes! A simulator allows for
hands-on application and practice to strengthen abilities, understand
concepts and build employee confidence prior to operating a "live" pipeline
system. |
8. |
ETI follows the competency-based training strategy. This approach
has been adopted by many technical, military and vocational training institutes
around the world. |
Competency-based training programs are more effective than traditional
methods because they focus on training to improve employee performance
by acquiring measurable knowledge or skills. |
Knowledge of facts and theories means little without results! ETI uses
a variety of performance measures (such as exams, on-job checks and practical
exercises) to ensure that training delivered yields new knowledge or skills. |
9. |
ETI has a wide project experience base. We've provided training solutions
for more than 90 energy companies spread over 27 countries since 1994. |
Our training products and services are refined, practical and time-tested.
Some products are available in languages other than English. |
ETI has the experience to help ensure your project is completed on time
and on budget. Many of our staff are bilingual, and have extensive experience
living and working in other cultures. |
